How to get rid of their abdominal fat?

Belly fat or visceral fat, which is found within our belly is most associated with cardiovascular mortality. This is why it is recommend regularly monitoring your waist ... but how to get rid of abdominal fat when it is there?

Exercise to eliminate abdominal fat
To check what works to remove abdominal fat, a US sports team has 144 people, men and women, aged 18 to 70 years.
One third did endurance, ie brisk walking on a treadmill simulating a climb. They walked the equivalent of 12 miles, or a little over 19 kilometers a week.
The second third was weight training three times a week.
The third carried a combination of those two years.

Two kinds of abdominal fat
The researchers then compared the fat that people had about the waist, either the subcutaneous fat (the one best seen, which lies between the skin and abdominal) or abdominal or visceral fat that surrounds our organs and puts us more at risk. result:
The combined method lose more fat in general.
The method with the only walking lost more visceral fat.
And with the only strength training, people were losing the subcutaneous fat ... but took visceral fat and more.

Why is endurance effective against abdominal fat?
It is a simple matter of calories: to eliminate visceral fat we need to burn a lot of calories, and a sustained effort over a long period, such as walking 19 km per week, which is good way to do this big energy expenditure.
It should however not be inferred from this study that weight training is bad, or even ineffective. Indeed, maintain or increase muscle mass is one of the keys to aging well. Experts, however, continue to recommend a mixture of both types of sport, but with special attention to endurance if we have too much visceral fat.
